Farm Grant Opportunity for Projects Related to Animal Welfare in Winter

food-animal-concerns-trust_Fund A Farmer logoThe Food Animals Concern Trust has announced that it will hold a grant round later this spring for farmers to make wintertime improvements.

According to their blog, FACT will award grants of up to $2,500 to at least 15 farmers for projects that will improve the welfare of animals on their operations. Over the last two years, they have funded a handful of winter related grant projects, such as frost-free water hydrant installations in pastures and wind curtains to keep animals warm in the winter. In general, these kinds of projects would fall under the category of “general improvements to animal welfare.”

Applications are due by May 1, 2014 and grants will be awarded in August 2014.  Follow this link for more information and the application.
