Resident Youth Program Coordinator
at Northwoods Apartments, White River Junction, Vermont

full-time 

Purpose:  Professional and hands on work involving the development and coordination of on-site programs provided to families living at Northwoods.  This individual may live in the Northwoods community apartment while working with the program supervisor, community resources and parents to develop and coordinate programs and activities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Further develop and coordinate activities which will involve all Northwood youth.  Such as after school programs, literacy and education programs, nutrition and cooking classes, special events, job skills, and job placement.
  • Recruit and support volunteer involvement in activity programs.
  • Coordination of existing programs.  Arts and crafts, movie night, lending library, computer lab, teen center, homework club and tutoring, summer lunch program.
  • Research and assist in the application process of scholarship funds to allow Northwood youth to attend sport and recreation programs, and summer camps off the property.
  • Work with other Service Program Staff to assist tenant family needs through education, awareness and advocacy.
  • Maintain program log for use by future AmeriCorps members.

Benefits: Full-time position, September 24, 2007-August 22, 2008. Term offers a living stipend ($12,825), health insurance, free housing during the term of service, as well as numerous and diverse training opportunities. Education award ($4,725 pre-tax) upon successful completion.
