

If your organization is interested in becoming a VCSP sponsoring site by hosting an AmeriCorps member, please first review the following Site Selection Guidelines. You should also be familiar with VCSP's mission statement and program goals, as well as those of VHCB. When requesting a member, VCSP will require a proposed position description, which should include member duties, responsibilities and activities as well as preferred member qualifications. Please note that VCSP has a limited number of member slots and will apply the following guidelines when considering a new partnership:
Site Selection Guidelines
1. Currently or regularly receives VHCB funds for projects
2. Is a successful current or former VCSP partner
3. Provides shelter, services or other special housing needs to families and individuals
4. Site location (county/region) ensures relative statewide VCSP representation
5. Supports a reasonable housing/conservation membership ratio
6. Proposed member position description and activities feed into VCSP mission and objectives
7. Has 501(c)3 status
8. Has a demonstrated ability to meet the requirements of sponsoring organizations as stated in the Agreement between VHCB and AmeriCorps VCSP Sponsors, including:
9. Ability to abide by AmeriCorps provisions associated with the grant.
10. Clear understanding of the role of AmeriCorps at sponsoring site, as well as an understanding of what activities ACMs may and may not perform for a sponsoring organization
11. Ability to complete periodic reports and requirements on time (member recruitment, member performance reviews, in-kind and cash match, progress reports, etc.)
12. Ability to effectively communicate with VCSP staff concerning any issues regarding the member, VCSP partnership, or any organizational/staff changes that may affect the ACM and/or partnership
