03/10/09: Leadership, Session II. This training is the second in a series of three Leadership trainings that will take place this program year. These sessions are designed to provide leadership development training in order to increase the capacity of members with key leadership skills; to support a comprehensive approach to all training opportunities throughout the year in order to maximize the impact that they have on members; and to increase camaraderie and trust, promote networking, and build cohesion among members.

02/26/09: Winter Gathering. Join us for a fun-filled day at Applecheek Farm in Hyde Park! The day will include citizenship and reflection activities, as well as some fun events hosted by Applecheek Farm. Come prepared to spend som time outside. For information and directions, see the flier here
01/07/09: Volunteer Management. VCSP is sponsoring a Volunteer Management workshop in Montpelier on January 3rd. The goals of the volunteer management training are to understand the components of a successful volunteer management system and strategies for implementation; to understand the motivation of volunteers; to identify ways to promote positive volunteer/staff relationships; to describe volunteer satisfaction strategies; and to identify individual areas of development. 12/11/08: Leadership Training, Session 1. VCSP is having its first Leadership Training in the Noble Reading Room at Vermont College of the Fine Arts, in Montpelier on Thursday, December 11th. This training is the first in a series of three Leadership trainings that will take place this program year. 12/03/08: Mandatory Reporting/Media Training. VCSP will be hosting a Mandatory Reporting and Media Training on December 3rd, 2008. The Mandatory Reporting portion will take place from 10 am to 12 pm, and will cover aspects of recognizing signs and symptoms of child abuse, and the protocol for reporting suspected child abuse. This training is optional, but highly recommended for all members that work with youth. In the afternoon, VHCB's own Pam Boyd will present members with tips and tools for working with the media. This portion of the training will take place from 1 pm to 4 pm. This protion is a required training for all members. The trainings will take place at VHCB's new headquarters at 58 E. 10/22/08: VCSP Ropes Course. VCSP will be hosting a Ropes Course for all members on October 22nd, in Brattleboro. This fun and exciting event is intended to bring members together to build relationships, network, and develop leadership and problem solving skills. The ropes course is challenge by choice. Please dress warmly in case of inclement weather, and bring a bagged lunch. See the flier. Don't forget to fill out and bring the medical release form!
07/01/08: We are now filling positions for 2008-2009 AmeriCorps Members! There are still several Positions left! Please take a look at the great slots available within the Affordable Housing and Land Conservation fields through the VCSP program. 12/31/07: Update on "Way To Go" Challenge. VCSP's "Way To Go" mileage minimization challenge has had a change. It will now be done as a drawing, and no longer by amount of miles saved. This will be more inclusive for all members. Any group that carpools to an event will be entered into the drawing (as a group). At the closing of the event we will draw one group and award a prize to each member of the group. Be sure to check in with Joan or Francis upon arrival to enter your group into the drawing.
